Set document permissions

Set document permissions to control who can access documents in your technical file. You can make documents available on your public page or exclude them from technical file shares

This feature is available for all plans. 

Before you begin

  • Ensure your technical file contains at least one document.

Steps

  1. Open your technical file and go to the Documents tab.
  2. Click the Set document permissions button.
    1. Select the documents you want to show on your public page. 
    2. Deselect in the “Shares allowed” column to avoid sharing these documents in pending or new technical file shares.
  3. Click Save & Close.

Tips and best practices

  • Upload the instruction manual and make it public. If you add the QR code on the product packing or in the written manual, the consumer will have a digital version available.
  • Another document that is commonly visible on a public page is the EU Declaration of Conformity.


FAQ

  • Can I make documents unavailable for all future shares in this technical file?

Yes. In the Documents tab, use Set Document Permissions and deselect Shares Allowed for the relevant documents. These documents will then be excluded from all future shares unless the setting is changed.
