Get started with PPWR – General

If you are the manufacturer and need to comply with the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), you must assess your packaging, prepare technical documentation, and issue an EU Declaration of Conformity (EU DoC) before placing the packaging or packaged product on the EU market. This path guides you along the full workflow in ProductIP and where to start. Follow the steps to move from the initial setup to a structured packaging technical file that supports the PPWR conformity assessment.

FAQ

  • What are our responsibilities in this process?
Your responsibilities include creating the technical file, reviewing the evidence, linking documents to the applicable requirements, and issuing the EU Declaration of Conformity (EU DoC).
Alternatively, you can outsource these activities through the FAST service. With FAST, ProductIP acts as your compliance expert secretariat. ProductIP contacts and follows up with your suppliers, reviews the submitted documents, and links them to the relevant requirements.
The final conformity assessment and the issuance of the EU DoC remain your responsibility as the responsible economic operator.
